Hello! My name is Cassie Mai and I’m a senior at the Awty International School. From a young age, I’ve been an avid reader, drawn to the stories and lifelong lessons that each book offers. My parents' journey to the U.S., made possible through education, has inspired me to advocate for educational opportunities for FGLI (first-generation, low-income) families with limited resources.

Growing up with older sisters who entered grade school without knowing English, I have a deep appreciation for the opportunities I've had to study Spanish and immerse myself in Hispanic culture at my international school. I’m proud to call Spanish my second language, and I feel grateful to be part of the international community here in Houston.

I’m passionate about communicating with the families we serve and understanding their needs, so we can offer personalized support. Outside of BestBridgeToHeart, I also volunteer with senior citizens and people with disabilities. In my free time, I like to dabble in photography, curate new Spotify playlists, read comics and non-fictions, and play tennis.
